Regain your trim figure, a flat stomach and a firm abdominal wall thanks to a tummy tuck (abdominoplasty).
The aim of the abdominal wall aesthetic and plastic surgery is to remove the most damaged skin (stretched, scarred or presenting stretch marks) and to make it healthy.
It is possible, at the same time, to combine this with a treatment of localised fat excess by lipoaspiration and the treatment of lesions to the underlying abdominal muscles (diastasis, hernia).
The imperfections which affect the abdominal wall are particularly hard to bear and live with. A tummy tuck (abdominoplasty) can reduce the importance of the operations and the resulting scarring.
In this area of the abdominal wall, there isn’t a unique technique which can be applied in all cases. An analysis of the lesions is necessary and several parameters have to be considered :
- Skin condition
- Level of fat excess
- Abdominal muscles tone
- General morphology of the patient
When a request for a surgical correction of the abdominal wall is made, several options can be considered:
- Abdominal plasty, to address the excess skin. However, it is often necessary, during the same operation, to combine this with other procedures such as associated fat excess liposuction, abdominal muscles repair, scar correction, etc…
- Mini-abdominoplasty. This operation is only appropriate for a skin excess above the pubis, sometimes highlighted by a related C-section scar. It allows the correction of the localised deformation with a slightly longer but much improved scar, without touching the navel or underlying skin.
- Abdominoplasty navel transposition, more often necessary to tighten all the abdomen skin between the stomach and the pubis. The operation will be completed after having treated a possible fat-related or muscular problem (liposuction, diastasis treatment...).
