Blepharoplasty, also called eyelid surgery, is a very precise and delicate surgery, carried out according to the patient’s exact requirements.
As time goes by, eyes lose their brightness and youth.
The upper eyelids become heavier and saggy, with excess skin forming a more- or less marked fold. The lower eyelids sag and shrivel with small horizontal wrinkles developing from this stretching of the skin. Eyelids become «puffed» and «bags» also appear under the eyes.
Blepharoplasty or eyelid surgery gives the face more brightness as well as a more rested look.
The procedure involves the smoothening of the skin and the removal of fat pockets in the upper and/or lower eyelids.
Blepharoplasty can be carried out only on the upper or lower eyelids, or involve all four eyelids at the same time.
Blepharoplasty can be carried out independently or in combination with another facial aesthetic surgery procedure (brow lift, temporal lift, cervicofacial), and possibly a medico-surgical therapy (laserbrasion, peel, dermabrasion). These procedures are likely to be completed during the same operation or during a second procedure.
